Nonfiction books in the business or how-to category – books that offer real benefit to readers by addressing specific business or consumer interests and problems. Publishers are hungry for these books, yet most writers forget to consider what publishers want.

Publishers aren’t looking for good books – they’re looking for good books that will sell. They want to publish titles the general reading public (mostly female) will relate to and buy. They rarely consider a new author who can’t come up with a marketing plan to aggressively promote the book through the Internet, radio and TV interviews, articles in related periodicals, and public appearances (seminars, trade shows, state fairs, conferences, etc.)
